We will see God in the seemingly ordinary events of daily life; allowing Him to use the ordinary to put an exclamation point on His word!
Yesterday, I walked outside early with our dogs for a walk before the expected day of rain. I was cheerfully greeted by a giant rainbow in full color over our street. All week I had been reading and meditating on Genesis 6-9; the story of Noah, the ark and the life-ending flood.
Genesis 9:12-16 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."
Thank You, Creator and Good Father, for putting an exclamation point on Your word through the seemingly ordinary events of every day life! Through the reading of Your word, we recognize rainbows are anything, but ordinary; they are a glimpse of YOU!! Amen...and amen.
