My Prayer For You and Me this week...don't be afraid!
Father, God, You know what we face today, tomorrow...this week. You know the times we feel we're walking a narrow pathway on the edge of a cliff, the times we feel backed into a corner, and the times we strive to keep our balance. God, You know the frightening circumstances, the bad report, and the sad news before it comes our way! And knowing all You know, Your word continuously tells us, "Fear not!"
Father, You tell us clearly in Your Word You are the One who fights for us, You will never leave us nor forsake us; You the LORD are our helper, what can man do to us? When our path suddenly becomes dark and rocky You speak, God; You say, "do not fear, for I am with you." You remind us, You will strengthen and help us; You will uphold us with Your righteous right hand.
Dear Father, how grateful we are when we read aloud these encouraging words from Isaiah: Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you."
So, God our God, Creator of everything in heaven and on earth, our hope and security is in You. In the words of Your friend, Moses; You, God, are God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.
If Job, who was severely tested, did not forsake You, then who are we to run away in fear. Lord, Jesus, may we in times of frightening circumstances choose to run toward You, for You are Light and Life, Protection and Provision, Sustainer, Redeemer; You, O God, are Sovereign King, victorious forever! Amen and amen!!
Do not fear, my friend, that's my prayer for you and me this week - no matter the challenge. Trust in the Lord and do good...commit your way to Him, trust Him and He will act. He, the Lord God, will bring forth your righteousness and vindicate you with His justice for the glory of His name and because He loves you, His dear child.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart!
