FMF::Visit

Welcome to Five Minute Friday with Kate Motaung and friends.  You might wonder, "What is Five Minute Friday?"

It's a time I look forward to each week.  It's about setting a timer for five minutes (literally), and then freely writing (I pray inspired by Holy Spirit) using the word prompt from Kate's website

The rules:  no re-writes and no polishing.  Five minutes on a timer.
The word this week: VISIT.

Go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To visit: might just be one of my favorite pastimes.  I just really enjoy spending time with people.  In fact, I've done that already this morning - visited with two of my friends, Ruth and Jean.  We had a lovely time sipping coffee around a table while we told and listened to stories - all the latest happenings in our lives - on our journey with Jesus.
I am reminded of Jesus when I see the word "visit".  He did a lot of that during His time here on earth, and He taught His disciples how to visit well with people in & outside their cultural norm.
Jesus visited with Zacchaeus after He called him down out of a tree.  He also visited with a Samaritan woman beside Jacob's well.  Another time Jesus visited with Matthew, the tax collector, and made him an offer, "Come, follow Me."  Matthew did, and later Matthew invited all his sinner friends to come eat dinner with Jesus at his house.
Jesus visited with lepers full of faith who left His presence clean.
Jesus visited with Pharisees who sat confused by this man who would welcome a woman off the street to anoint Him with perfumed oil and wash His feet with her tears.
Jesus visited with multitudes filling their ears with truth, offering them freedom in the Kingdom of God, and food for their bellies.  Jesus visited with His disciples in the upper room, served them a Passover meal and washed their feet.
Jesus visited.  He listened.  He wept.  He answered.
Jesus spoke truth and He loved well.
Each time I enjoy a visit with anyone, I ask Jesus to come along, and make His presence known because He is our example of how to visit well!
Blessings of GREAT JOY on your amazing adventure journey with Jesus!
