My Prayer For You...March 30, 2014

My prayer for you and me this week

we will allow our weaknesses to be touched by God's strength

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
Romans 8:26a ESV

But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

we will take delight and give thanks in knowing our prayers are infused with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit

...We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.  And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.  Romans 8:26b-27

we will count it all joy
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  James 1:2-4 NIV

in the Holy, Strong, and Majestic Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
Amen and Amen!

My Prayer for You...March 23, 2014

My prayer for you and me this week...

...when you've set out to honor the Lord by doing the work He has put on your heart to do, and the enemy grumbles, taunts, and threatens to destroy your efforts...
"Don't be afraid of them.  Remember the Lord, Who is great and awesome and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes." Nehemiah 4:14

When our enemies hear that we are aware of their plot and that God has frustrated it, return each to his own work.  Nehemiah 4:15

This Week's Lightbulb Moment

Jesus, the Light of the world, loves to saunter
into dark places!

Very frequently people ask me, "Where do your sons go to college?"  My answer, "Kennesaw State and Georgia Southern", and then I wait for it.

Wait.for.it.

With a smirk for emphasis, "Aha, Southern, the party school!"  To which I give my standard response, "Every school is a party school, if that's what you're looking for."

I have no intention of defending Georgia Southern University or the college town of Statesboro, GA.  Though there are over 80 churches in this small town, there's definitely an overwhelming sense of spiritual darkness on and around this rural college campus.

Soon after our youngest son began his freshman year at Southern, he met Nick Nabors of The Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ).  My husband and I took the opportunity to introduce ourselves to Nick and his wife, Ashley, on one particular visit to Statesboro.

We were blessed by the Nabors' love for the Lord, and love for college students.  Their passion to make disciples for Jesus Christ on the Georgia Southern campus touched a tender place in our parental hearts.  It is our delight to prayerfully support the ministry of The Cru, and to pray for God to do what only He can do on this college campus.

Just recently, we received the March blog update from Nick regarding the exciting ministry currently taking place on campus.  I attached the link here, and I hope you will read the amazing and glorious work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of college students at "the party school"!  To God be the GLORY!!

Yes, Jesus, the Light of the World, loves to saunter into the darkest of venues...and redeem the lost!

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world.  Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  John 8:12

My Prayer for You...March 16, 2014

My prayer for you and me this week...

...we will allow these words from Galatians to sear our hearts, and bridle our tongues! (James 3:2)  May we also turn from the popular patterns of this world, be transformed and renew our minds in Christ!

But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.  But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:15-16 ESV

Oh Lord, may we stop biting and devouring each other with our words, our actions, and motives of evil intent so that we will not destroy one another.  Lord, Jesus, we can't do it in our flesh, but by Your resurrection power we are able to live by the Spirit, and we will not gratify the desires of our sinful nature. We believe You will do this in us as we yield to You.  Thank You Jesus for honoring the desires of our hearts to live rightly with people and You, for Your glory, Amen and Amen!!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2 NIV

My Prayer For You...March 9, 2014

My prayer for you and me this week...

...Renewal...Romans 12:2  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

...Regeneration...Titus 3:5  He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

...Restoration... 2 Corinthians 13:11  Finally, brothers, rejoice.  Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you

...Resurrection...Romans 6:5-6  For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.  We know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

John 11:25  Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live..."

Lord, God, Creator of all, thank You for teaching us about resurrected life from death through all we witness in nature; barren winter landscapes coming to life in the vibrant colors of spring!  My prayer for myself and everyone reading these words is a hunger for Your Word and a thirst for Your Presence; an overwhelming delight in You, the Creator, as we see Your beauty and grandeur in all of Creation, especially as spring arrives. Unveil our eyes, unstop our ears, renew our minds with the wonder of life resurrected from death, and may we desire to have some aspect of our heart resurrected, restored, renewed, and regenerated as You reveal our need for such!  Out of our desire for cleansing and purification, a renewed heart, may we simply ask You for it and receive it. (Psalm 51) Be glorified in us, Your Creation, that we will properly reflect Your majesty to a world in need of resurrected life.  In Your Holy, and Precious name, Jesus, Amen and Amen!!

My Prayer For You...March 2, 2014

My prayer for you and me this week...

...may we take Jesus at His Word when He said, "If (we) have the faith like the grain of a mustard seed, (we) will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)

Lord, Jesus, please open our eyes to the true nature of our mountains.  Perhaps our greatest "mountains" are the paralyzing obstacles of fear, insecurity, jealousy, prejudice, doubt or possibly the Mt. Everest of an unforgiving heart!

May we grow weary of being stuck in front of this mountain, and in a moment of faith, however small, cry out, "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!  I want to be free of this mountain.  Mountain of (name it), move out of my way, by the authority of Jesus' name; MOVE, and I will move forward following Jesus in ever increasing faith!"

Father, I know You will hear this prayer whether a whisper or a shout!   I know, because Your Word and Your promises are true, You will hear and answer this prayer of faith, in the Name of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Amen and Amen!
